Surrounded by mountains over 2,000 metres high, the valley offers dreamlike landscapes where rivers are ever-present.
Much of the land surrounding the valley is part of the Ter and Freser Headwaters Natural Park, as well as several areas designated as Natural Areas of Interest.
Small hamlets and villages with mountain architecture dot the landscape, offering authentic experiences connected to the country’s roots and traditions.
On foot, by bicycle, running or by car, the Ribes Valley offers endless possibilities: hiking routes, hidden hermitages, rivers, bunkers, viewpoints, springs, wildlife and flora spotting, or simply moments of calm.
Take the rack railway to the Vall de Núria, one of the most iconic spots in the Pyrenees.
A valley that changes with the seasons
In winter, the peaks are often covered in white. It’s a time for winter sports, snowshoeing and getaways to the resorts of Núria, La Molina or La Masella.
In spring, the valley is reborn. Green, flower-filled meadows, the paths between villages and the grazing cows and horses create bucolic scenes.
In summer, the mountains are more accessible, inviting you for a stroll and, for the more adventurous, to summit. The warm days contrast with the cool nights, which are perfect for a good night’s rest.
In autumn, a mosaic of colours transforms the landscape. The forest is generous and awakens all five senses.
